Upcoming Events

At Dismas House of Indiana, we believe that real understanding comes through proximity and shared experiences. Our events are more than just gatherings—they are opportunities to listen, learn, and connect with those directly impacted by the challenges of reentry. By centering the voices of individuals with lived experience, including our residents, alumni, and community partners, we create spaces where stories are shared, perspectives shift, and meaningful change begins. Whether through panel discussions, volunteer opportunities, or community celebrations, our events foster dialogue, break down stigma, and build stronger connections. Join us as we learn, grow, and support the journey home together.

Recovery City (1).pdf.png

Recovery City is a powerful documentary following four women as they navigate the challenges of recovery and rebuild lives they are proud of. These women, all connected to Dismas House, show what’s possible when recovery and community come together: a graduate now serving as an intern, a current resident stepping up as a Resident Recovery Coach, a graduate leading as Board President, and an alum who became a Certified Peer Recovery Coach while at Dismas.

Reentry Simulation

Coming home after incarceration is more than just a transition—it’s an uphill battle. Barriers to housing, employment, and social reintegration make success difficult, and stigma only adds to the struggle. The St. Joseph County Reentry Simulation offers a rare opportunity to step into the shoes of someone navigating this reality. Through this immersive experience, participants will face the same obstacles individuals exiting incarceration encounter daily, gaining insight into the complexities of reentry and the critical role communities play in supporting second chances.
