SOUTH BEND — Actor-musician Jamie Campbell Bower, who is currently filming the highly anticipated fifth and final season of “Stranger Things,” will be the keynote speaker when Dismas House of Indiana holds its annual dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in the Gillespie Conference Center, 53995 State Hwy 933.
In film, Bower is known for his roles in Tim Burton’s “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” Kevin Costner’s “Horizon” and “The Twilight Saga,” alongside several other credits.
He’s also been open about his life of recovery following more than 12 years of active addiction and mental health challenges. Bower first spoke publicly about his addiction in a 2019 interview with i-D.
“I’m in recovery, so one of the first things that they teach you when you’re in recovery is to be super honest about what it is that you’re feeling, like guilt, shame, fear, sadness, whatever it is,” he said. “The most important thing is, and it’s the hardest thing to do, is just express exactly what it is that you’re feeling.”
Bower’s advocacy and experiences align directly with the mission of Dismas House, a not-for-profit organization that fosters healing, belonging and self-determination for individuals returning from
incarceration — of which roughly 50% have some type of substance use disorder — in a supportive, family-centered home. Dismas House works to reduce recidivism and address systemic barriers through compassionate, community-driven care and meaningful connections.

Event Details
Dinner tickets are available for public purchase at a cost of $125 each or $900 for a table of 8.
Mocktails and other non-alcoholic beverages will be available beginning at 6:30 p.m., with dinner to follow at 7 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase a $50 ticket to have their photo taken with Bower from 6-7 p.m.; this is not included in the dinner ticket. Digital photos will be available for download after the dinner. Bower’s keynote address will begin at 7:45 p.m.
Following Bower’s address, the yet-to-be-named emcee will preside over a silent auction and awards presentation for outstanding community members.
Sponsorship packages are now available for one to 16 attendees, which include tickets to the main event, priority seating, various ad space, levels of recognition, photos with Bower and more.
