A South Bend native, Andee Huxhold brings a deep commitment to justice reform and nonprofit leadership. She is in the final months of her graduate studies in Public Policy, with a focus on Justice Reform and Restorative Justice, at Vermont Law and Graduate School. With a background in nonprofit leadership, community advocacy, and fundraising/development, Andee has dedicated her career to supporting at-risk populations and advocating for justice reform. Previously, she led the Tucson LGBT Chamber of Commerce, where she championed community engagement and inclusivity. Andee’s work emphasizes the importance of fostering community and belonging for returning citizens. Together, she and her partner have two grown sons and two daughters still at home. They reside in South Bend with their three dogs and two cats. Andee loves to read, cook, travel, eat good food (especially breakfast), visit The Morris and the South Bend Civic Theatre, and spend time with her chosen family.
Shebrell Guider is the Program Manager at Dismas House of Indiana, bringing a passion for advocacy and community engagement. Shebrell is dedicated to amplifying the voices of current and future residents, ensuring their needs and perspectives shape the programs and resources offered. With a focus on inspiring others to become more active in their communities, she also works to raise awareness of critical local issues. A resident of Elkhart, Shebrell enjoys spending time with her daughter, reading, bowling, tackling DIY projects, and exploring new interests twice a month. She is proud to contribute to the transformative mission of Dismas House of Indiana.
Lydia Turner is the Office Manager at Dismas House of Indiana, bringing expertise in organizational skills, project management, and finance. She focuses on efficiency and system organization, playing a key role in managing administrative tasks that support the organization’s mission to help individuals transition from incarceration back into society. Outside of work, Lydia enjoys family time with her two boys, two cats, and her partner, who serves in the Navy. She loves reading, organizing game nights, and sewing. Lydia also holds a second job that taps into her creative talents. She is proud to contribute to the meaningful work at Dismas House of Indiana.
Our home was founded in 1986 to provide transitional housing and support services to men and women who have been recently released from incarceration. We offer a variety of programs to assist our residents in their transition back into society.
